Hiding and hugging

post hug

I think that one way to have fun on the streets is to hide in the bushes. We practised this by hiding under the stairs where we chatted and it sounded echoey. I also enjoyed seeing different shapes in the clouds. I saw a bird. Here is a picture of me half hugging, half climbing a post.
Also I was good at following other people's moves.

Imagine danger on each side of the path

Follow my leader

I thought it would be good to look for short cuts.
We spent some time playing follow my leader and I came up with some pretty good moves that the whole group had to copy.
The main thing I do to have fun when I'm walking to school is imagine that on one side of the path is water with alligators in it and other is fire.

We all tried this, and then tried different ways to get off the path.

Low wall dismount

Gafar's move

When I first thought about how to have fun in the streets I thought about scateboarding on handrails. Then I thought about what I do to have fun on the way to school. Sometimes I walk on low walls. We all practised doing this together by walking along white lines in the playground. But this boring so I thought we could could make it more interesting by cartwheeling off the wall at the end.

We tried quite a few of my moves out. We also tried bounding up stairs like an animal.

Yemisi's move

The Crab

When I walk to school I notice all the new buildings that are being built and I wonder about where the entrances are going to be. I also notice that there is sometimes a plane pulling a Stella Artois advertisment!

My move is going to be called Yemisi's move. It's just what I do when I'm standing around to make it more fun. It's a bit hard to show in a still photo. When we were practising Abid's way to have fun in the street, I came up with this way to finish the move. It's called "the crab".

Finding shapes in clouds

Submitted by maria on Thu, 2008-09-11 15:45

On my way to school I sometime imagine what it would be like to be rich. Sometimes I imagine that people are throwing money at me. I also notice yellow brick walls and also the low clouds in the sky. Once I saw a cloud above my house that was like a big volcano with clouds puffing out of the top.
So my move for Peckham street training is to look for different shapes in the clouds.

My move is to play a tune on my mobile phone called Waterwall by Chris Brown. People could dance to it if they wanted.

Open top tourist bus ball

Submitted by Lottie on Mon, 2008-09-08 16:55

find the route of the open top tourist buses, they pass by aldgate roundabout, west side. best to have a few trainers on either side of the road and at the intersection. Throw a ball to some one sitting on the top deck of a tourist bus, you might have to yell at them to throw it back.

street training Sunday 31st August

Submitted by Lottie on Thu, 2008-09-04 08:07

Street training yesterday had a good turn out despite the weather 10 people came! They received medals for turning up. Again amazingly everyone wanted to try the insane floor diving technique, the people who just kind of awkwardly lay down were the best really, though a strapping canadian bloke glided a very long way, Imogen reckoned that Gethan would give him a runn for his money though. (a tutorial for those of you who haven't tried it yet)
