“Play-fighting, sliding down handrails or running up down escalators are among other acts epitomising less leisure, which is ‘part of the cycle of productive behaviour’, than pure ‘glorious waste’. Street Training provides manuals containing a wide variety of advice on how to be safe and joyful on the streets. Polemically, it responds to the notion that unless young people are engaged in structured activities or acting as mini consumers, they may cause trouble.

late Evening Sunshine at Spitalfields City Farm

Part of the Street Training course on Wednesdays this Summer, all are invited and welcome to enjoy the long balmy evenings by the fire in Spitalfields. A series of conversations on aspects of the city will take place 6pm-8pm at Spitalfields City Farm. The topics are:
7th July Community and the city
21st July Growing and the city (growing plants, people, food, culture)
4th August Play and the city
18th August Economies and the city
8th September Art/Activism in the city
15th September Animals and the city
